Position: Maternal Child Health Registered Nurse Open: 09-08-25
Location: White Earth Close: Until Filled
Pay: $32.52/DOQ/Neg Benefits: Full Status: Full Time
The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is currently seeking a qualified applicant who will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to women and their families eligible for the NFP Program. Responsible for maintaining the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and adherence to the NFP model policies. procedures, guidelines, and standards of NFP and White Earth Health Division. Provides for the preventative, therapeutic and restorative aspects of nursing care based on systematic assessment of client, family and community needs and public health services.
Position Outcomes:
• Develops therapeutic relationships, utilizes concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with families in a home visiting environment.
• Assesses physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of families in a home visiting environment.
• Provides case management and care coordination for high-risk individuals, family, or community situations.
• Evaluates effectiveness of plan and makes changes as necessary.
• Documents assessment and intervention data in medical record.
• Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate improved outcomes.
• Maintains professional competency by pursuing continuing education opportunities.
• Provides training. orientation, and education to staff, students, and other health and human services professionals in the community regarding public health practices.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and ability to follow and apply policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council, White Earth Home Health Agency, Nurse Practice Act, and State and Federal laws relating to scope of practice.
• Knowledge of local, state, federal regulations/legislation.
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of nursing process, skill in using a systemic approach to care that includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, consultation, and referral.
• Knowledge of human systems, human behavior, and alternative practices.
• Knowledge and skill in time management, problem solving, prioritizing, and crisis intervention.
• Ability and knowledge to utilize strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively withing a group to make the group successful, effective, and efficient.
• Ability to role model professional, ethical, respectful, and assertive behavior.
• Skill and ability to organize, build consensus, resolve conflict, coach, and motivate others.
Qualifications:
• Current MN State Registered Nurse License.
• Prefer BSN.
• Prefer MN Public Health Nurse Certification
• Prefer two years’ Public Health experience.
• Prefer knowledge and training in Nurse Family Partnership evidenced based model.
• Prefer home visiting experience.
• Valid MN Driver's License and insurance for driving between sites and other business-related destinations.
• Current CPR license or able to obtain upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
