Our Program Mission: To improve the health and wellbeing of the White Earth Nation

As we grow and strive to bring programs to the people we serve, we provide flexible scheduling of home visits, educational offerings and events. To make a referral to any one of our programs, please call (218) 983 3286 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm and ask for the intake nurse or if transportation is what you need, we do have dispatch available to assist with scheduling an available ride.

We are White Earth Tribal Health; improving the health of our Nation, one beat at a time.

WIC

The White Earth Reservation Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is a vital public health initiative designed to support the nutritional well-being of pregnant and postpartum individuals, infants, and children under the age of five. Rooted in the values of community care and cultural respect, our WIC program empowers families across the White Earth Nation with access to healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to essential health and social services.

Administered through the White Earth Home Health Department, our WIC services are tailored to reflect the unique needs and strengths of our tribal community. We recognize the importance of honoring traditional practices while promoting evidence-based health and nutrition strategies to build a healthier next generation.

Services Provided

  • Nutritious Supplemental Foods tailored to meet the needs of each life stage
  • One-on-One Nutrition Counseling from trained professionals with cultural competency
  • Breastfeeding Support, including access to a lactation specialist and supplies
  • Referrals to health care, child care, family planning, and other community resources
  • WIC Clinics sites are located in White Earth, Mahnomen, Naytahwaush, Bagley, Pine Point, and Rice Lake. Call for more information on clinic days and hours.

Eligibility
The White Earth WIC Program serves:

  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum individuals
  • Infants and children up to age 5
  • Participants who meet income guidelines and have a nutritional need

Tribal affiliation is not required—WIC is open to all who qualify and reside on or near the White Earth Reservation.

Why WIC Matters
WIC is proven to improve birth outcomes, childhood development, and long-term health. On the White Earth Reservation, the WIC program is more than just nutrition—it’s an investment in our children, our culture, and our future.
