The TUC meets typically once a month on the second Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Our meetings are typically held on Microsoft Teams. The schedule is below and a link to our meeting is attached.
Occasionally the TUC adopts regulations and reviews Utility Code amendments for the Tribal Council. Information about the pending actions and process can be found below.

Origins and Purpose
The White Earth Nation adopted the Utility Code and created the Tribal Utility Commission in the summer of 2022. Section 1.03 of the Tribal Utility Code outlines the purpose of the Utility Code and TUC. Fundamentally, The Tribal Council deems it in the public interest that all utilities located, operating, or providing services within the Reservation be regulated for adequate, safe, and reliable utility services, and to ensure that utilities operate in accordance with WE Nation goals and interests.

Siting Permit for Infrastructure
To ensure that utility infrastructure projects and placements do not negatively impact WEN members, WEN natural resources, Tribal assets, important cultural/historical areas, and to ensure Tribal policies are respected, a siting permit for all infrastructure projects within the Reservation is required. Due to the large size of the White Earth Reservation, there are many different utility providers on the reservation. A listing can be found below.
