The White Earth Family Treatment Program is seeking qualified candidates to assist in providing care to the children of the WEFT clients while they are attending outpatient services. This person will also assist in food preparation for clients and children.
Position Outcomes:
• Implement daily programs that engage children in and promote physical, mental and social development.
• Always ensures a safe environment for children.
• Attends to children’s needs including diaper changing, toileting, feeding, naps, and personal hygiene.
• Work positively with children to encourage participation and learning.
• Maintains confidentiality of adults and their children at the WEFT program.
• Ensure that all children are supervised while the parent(s) are in service.
• Listens and responds positively to clients to maintain a high level of satisfaction.
• Keep program manager informed on a daily/weekly basis.
• Utilize skills learned to approach children in a positive manner, using positive reinforcements: and never utilize corporal punishment nor verbal abusiveness.
• Comply with reporting standards regarding child abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter for the safety of the children.
• Candidate will plan snacks/meals with kitchen staff.
• May be asked to help prepare meals with kitchen staff for all families.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Knowledge of the demographics, culture, customs, and lifestyles of the White Earth Reservation.
• Knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the polices and procedures of the White Earth RBC and WEFT Program.
• Ability to deal with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous children and parents.
• Ability to understand and implement the duties of a mandated child maltreatment reporter.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred one (1) year experience working with children in a childcare setting.
• Must be free from chemical abuse for a period of one (1) year prior to employment.
