SNAP information:
If you would like to apply for SNAP, you can apply online at any time at mnbenefits.mn.gov. You can also fill out a paper application called a Combined Application Form by printing an online version, going to your county or Tribal Nation office, or requesting your county or Tribal Nation office mail one to you. Paper applications can be dropped off, mailed in, or faxed back to the county or Tribal Nation office. The application process begins when you submit a MNbenefits online application or when the county or Tribal Nation office receives at least the first page of the Combined Application Form containing your name, address, and signature. The date you submit your application impacts the amount of benefits you will receive that month if you are eligible, so it's important to submit it right away. Expedited processing means that SNAP benefits may be available to you within seven days if you meet one of the three following situations: your household has less than $150 in monthly gross income and $100 or less in liquid assets, or your household consist of destitute migrant or seasonal farm workers with $100 or less in liquid assets, of your households combined monthly gross income and liquid assets are less than your monthly housing costs and the applicable standard utility deduction.
An interview via phone or in-person is required for CASH,SNAP (food support) and Emergency Assistance.
